Hey shorty, it's your BIRTHDAY!

It's scary knowing how fast time passes. In a blink of an eye, it's already OCTOBER! gosh...
Anyway, it's a month full of birthdays, including ME ME ME! Thank you all my dearest family and friends, who were there for me forever and ever!! <3

First up was Judy's birthday. So, we (the gang) met up on one Sunday, usually early for lunch at Spruce. They have 2 outlets, and we went to the one located at the old fire station along Bukit Timah Road. As usual, over-ordering! Food was average. The scrambled eggs were alittle over-cooked, and the poached egg was slightly tough on the outside. But the Mac & Cheese was good, we actually ordered another serve!

And because we over-ordered & over-ate, we decided to head over to my place for the cake cutting and for some chit chat session.

The girlfriends of more than 10 years!

Then on 2 Mondays ago, it was the sister's birthday! Headed to our favourite Japanese BBQ place - Yakinikutei

Our $38 plate of wagyu beef.

Food has always been fantastic at Yakinikute, especially the wagyu beef cut. The must try is their wagyu beef stick, ox tongue, shiso rice and the small vegetable salad ( forgot its name). It's more of a beef lovers' place, but pork or seafood lovers are more than welcome. They serve better than average pork cuts, like the pork belly or prime pork meat. Yums!

Happy Birthday Kwanie! We love You!

And for my birthday, it was a 3 day celebration! Being able to spend quality time spent with my family and friends, there is nothing more I need now.

All about Hong Kong

Hong Kong has been a favourite for many people, especially the Chinese in Singapore. Why so? Maybe because firstly, the exchange rate, a whopping 1SGD = 6HKD, makes it a shopping heaven! But then, I guess people who have been to HK frequent enough, will know HK is never very cheap, in comparison to other Asia countries like Thailand and Vietnam. I have been to HK couple of times this year, and personally think the cost of living in HK is almost equivalent to Singapore. 1 cup of Bubble Tea can easily cost HKD20-30, which is like SGD4-5. Isn't it the same or even more expensive? Then again, when I am in a holiday mood, I am really willing to pay the extra dollar for a much better cup of Bubble Tea!

Shopping hasn't been my thing. Not in HK. Never have been able to shop like crazy, like how others have been saying. No idea why. Saw several dresses & tops that I like, but they are really expensive. Almost SGD100 easily for a good quality dress. might as well shop in Zara or H&M.

But, my new found love in HK is definitely shopping in SASA & BONJOUR! It's like shopping in paradise, and it's never difficult to find SASA/ BONJOUR, they are located on almost every street. Sister and I always spend at least 1 hour shopping for our "My Little Diary" face masks, and browsing through all the innovative Japanese facial products. They even have small toiletries packages, so convenient for us travellers. Especially when you do not have any checked-in luggages.

Back to our HK Trip. We were up at 3am, so we were all sleeping through our 3hours flight, in preparation for a very long day!

We then took a bus to ur Hotel, Metropark Mongkok. Really convenient taking bus A21, as the bus stopped right outside the hotel's entrance. Took us about 45 minutes to get there. The thing that I dislike about checking in, is that you will always have to wait til after 3pm to get your room. Then again, turning tables, I always request for late checkouts if my flight is in the late afternoon. So then, the next guest will not be able to have their room. Life's so contradicting!

We were really hungry by then, so we just strolled along Nathan Road looking for a nice place for lunch. Our first meal? Taiwan bubble tea & braised pork rice! Haha..

For the rest of the day, we spent walking around the "common" areas - Causeway Bay, Tsim Sha Tsui and Mongkok. Wanted to take the ferry for the 8pm light show at the harbour, but the tickets were fully booked. So we ended up taking a ferry from Central to Tsim Sha Tsui, at least we got a feel of how it's like commuting through a ferry!

Day 2 of our trip was spent in Ocean Park. Lucky us, we had no rain, but really scorching hot sun. Especially when you are slight up on the hill, the heat was really unbearable.

It made all of us sleepy, and all we wanted to do was to run into the "North Pole Adventure". Icy cold temperatures.

Look what they won!

Happy with his new toy - for only 1/2 day. :P

Oversized for the kids carousel!

Can't live without a map in HK.

Overall, Hong Kong has been great! Had great dim sums and Japanese food. Only thing we missed out was our 茶餐厅 ( Tea House) where they serve really yummy french toast and Hong Kong style milk tea! To yet another Hong Kong trip again...
